World of Sages is a mythological epic inspired by my journey to photograph a portrait of one person from every country in the world. The story follows Sebastian, a young explorer from a small seaside village devoid of magic. Upon being presented with the opportunity to harness an elemental power, Sebastian is tasked with a quest to gather the wisdom of the ancient sages from every corner of the globe. Along the way, he encounters legendary characters and mythical creatures born from the cultures I photograph in the real world. Through parallel universes, Sebastian and I traverse the globe, blending the truth of our world with the tales that shape it.

The Lorelings
Lorelings are the mythical creatures of legend that inhabit the land. As they grow, Lorelings undergo a process known as morphosis, transforming through three distinct evolutionary stages.

Each country is home to its own national species, elusive beings that stem from the folklore of the land. National Lorelings are rarely seen and live in harmony with nature.
House Lorelings
Every house commands its own mythical species. While national Lorelings roam wild and free, house Lorelings are raised in captivity to fulfill specific roles within society.
Mazaquetz
Magic
Commanding the natural elements is a power typically reserved for the gods. If deemed worthy by a deity, however, a mortal may be gifted an elemental crystal. While these crystals unlock the ability to wield magic, the guidance of an arcane master must be sought in order to harness its true potential. Few receive this blessing. Fewer still master its power.
